Refocusing

4th of February 2025

Back in 2020 I wrote about the milestone of a decade of self employment, and in 2022 I wrote about re-positioning things. The time has come to do the same review and stock-taking again, as I pass the 15-year self-employment-ish milestone.

In the last few years my work has gravitated around two related areas. On the one side, I'm working with clients to figure out what's going on, where they should focus, and what their goals and next steps should be. On the other, I've worked on digital products - weaving between small-scale product management and rapid prototyping roles to help figure out the shape of challenges or opportunities. In both cases the goal is to reduce uncertainty and untangle complexity. And, in both cases its proving useful to have skills that span a bunch of different domains, and the experience of working with smart teams and people in a much wider range. I'm finding there's a niche here too - albeit one I'm still figuring out a name or neat description for.

So what's next? Figuring out that description is definitely a part of it - more to come on that shortly. I'm also looking to build that network and framework of experts I work with to take these untangled complexities to the next stage, be that fleshing out and implementing a plan, or building out a tool, system or service. If that's you, or your business drop me a line. Equally, if that untangling of either sort sounds just like what you're looking for, head on over to Bold Wise and say hi.
